Something New. Tonight's Blog

Just be me. Tonight's blog is going to be a bit different. Sure I like to write and yes I know how to sell almost anything, because that what I did my whole life. I used to anyway. But lets face it, going on and on about this book can be a little boring. I mean my life up to this moment has been so much more interesting.

With that said, I thought I would just change things and make this blogging technology a little different. And for once just be my crazy self. I say CRAZY because no other words can describe the life that I have lived and the life that has made me... Me.

The funny thing is that people in one way or another want me to change and be someone I'm not. Truth be told the old me was a little... WILD to say the least. Those that know me can attest to that, and I am really trying to be a different person then I was say... a year and two months ago? YES, I definitely am trying.

This time around I want to make a difference and help people as much as I can vs. letting it be all about me. It was funner when it was all about me, that I can assure you, but then again I used to have money and power and well the things that people look for in life, that is until I lost everything. Everything except my family, which is why I am even here writing this.

Why are we as humans never happy with what we have? We all say... I want a MILLION bucks, or I want the HUGE MANSION on the beach, or I want kids.... I WANT, I WANT, I WANT! However, when we get those things we seem to want more, it never ends. Take it from a guy that only a year and two months ago thought to be untouchable.

I thought I had it all, but when I look back I really had nothing. It was all "smoke in mirrors" a vague glance of who I thought I was of who I wanted to be. Strange thing is that a part of me, a part that is hidden deep inside tells me that was the real me. Part of me says that it still is, that no matter how much I try to change I still am going to be that person. I don't know who I am now or where I am going or where this new path will lead me and my family. All I know is that I am truly blessed in more ways then I can even write in this Blog which up till a month ago I never even knew what a blog was. Crazy right?

So here is tonight’s question for all... if there even is an "Everyone" who chimes in, the question is WHY? Yes, this is probably more about me then you, seeing that I am the one looking for the answers, and perhaps not you. So flatter me, WHEN IS ENOUGH... ENOUGH?

I wrote STRUMP and created this BLOG and started Instagraming and Twittering and Facebooking for a new start in life. I am even writing now because of my wife and three kids who think the world of me. I’m writing this now to for those who were with me in the worse place imaginable on earth, that even though you fall down, God is good and can help you get back up.

I'm not the only one, I can't be, the world is way to big for me to be the only one who wants to make a difference.

So there you have it, another CRAZY thought, by a Crazy Author, with a Crazy mind that just wants to somehow make a difference in the world. Only time will tell.

Chime in tomorrow for more philosophical blog about my life.

For the sake of the blog thought I would include a pic of the STRUMP book which I really hope you like and truly hope takes you away from everything like it did me.

Chapter 42 - "The afternoon light faded behind the outskirts of the Droom Dreary Forest. The had to move fast, complete their mission, but King Alexander's subconscious clouded his thoughts. 'He's gone! How am I going to tell Pennel he has been taken? He saved my life and I failed him.' This was all the young king could think of as Chauser trotted closer to the Town of Pi."

Snow, Snow and more Snow - Tonights Blog

Snow, Snow and more Snow:

In Strump: A World of Shadows, there id a lot of Snow falling in the Northern Realm where Sky Castle is located. The castle that is featured on the cover of the book rest over 8,000 meters in the air. It is carved not only on top of the mountain but it also goes down 35 floors into the mountain.

The Kings Tower Room is the highest point in the castle and shoots out above the clouds like a magical arrow pointing towards the sun. It is in this room that King Aerostat the II meets with both his sons to decide whom he would choose to rule after his death.

Everyone is expecting his oldest son, Gorgan to sit upon the throne, but the twists of fate might have something else in store for both brothers.

Enjoy Strump on this cold winters night and if you have go out tomorrow Drive Safe!

Write something meaningful that will last the test of time! Tonights Blog Post.

When writing I sometimes wonders if what I am typing will surpass the test of time.
If, in someway my words have inspired, entertained, caused a smile a happy memory in someone’s life, then I was successful and achieved my goal. If not then why write? Why take the time to blog or create another chapter in some unknown book that will have no effect on anyone? Even if you just write in a journal every night before you go to sleep is it worth the paper that you are even writing on? Will your loved ones one day look back at your words and understand a piece of you that described what you were thinking in that very moment in time that you wrote them. Will you just be another .99 download on eBooks or another notebook that will create dusk on some old bookshelf that no one will read?

Personally for me writing is a way to express you, ones inner most thoughts. Granted I do get carried away sometimes with how my mind drifts off in the stories that I tell, but when I write it has to be for a reason, for a purpose. If not, then I'm simply wasting time and killing trees.
Words are not just wind, they are power and if used right can be ones legacy upon the world. Make them count and make them last so that they can tell the story of you. If you don't keep a journal, look for a way to keep one. Write down your thoughts, what you think, how you feel. Sometime words written are better then words said. Just remember, one day someone you love will read them.

Create Memories - Tonights Blog Post

Birthday's

This weekend we celebrated my wife's birthday. To say the least it was a weekend filled with fun and laughter. Friends, Kids, Food and way to many Sweets that made me realize how lucky I was to be home with them.

Like in the story of STRUMP it was at Gorgan's coming of age party that set the stage for everything that was too happen throughout the book. I bring this up tonight so that we all can look forward to the moments in our lives that can help shape us into the people we are, but more importantly the people we want to be. We will never have another opportunity to turn back the clock and create memories. So live for the moment and savor every chance you have to be with those you love.

Underground Abyss and the subconscious mind of Ser Roman!

Underground Abyss and the subconscious mind of Ser Roman.

Living in a world that is neither here nor there, one can only hope to have that connection with life, with the underworld before you die. If given the opportunity what would you do? Will be able to face your own demons to free your self? Or would you simply live in the nether world where everything is peaceful and calm? This is Sir Roman's decision. Family, Friends, his Kingdom is waiting for him and now is his time to choose.

What would you do with eternal life? Tonights Blog.

HOUSE  SKY

Throughout the book I mention a number of different houses. Each house was given a piece of the Game Board of Shan. One of the oldest families in all the Blue Kingdom is House Sky. In-Fact King Aerostat was the one who helped build the Blue Kingdom, the same Kingdom that his Great Grandchildren are now trying to take from each other.

Those of true House Sky noble blood are human just like you and I are. However in the Blue Kingdom heirs from House Sky have a long lifespan. So long that some of them live to be over 500 years. Of course this is only in the Blue Kingdom, the reason is because of a special silver stone that dwells in the realm. The stone has never been found and few know of its true power.

This leads me to tonights question: What would you do with eternal life? If there existed a magic stone that could help you live to be 500 years old would you try to take it for your self? And if so what would you do to protect it from others who may want to take it from you?

Let the Reviews Begin.....

Strump - A World of Shadows by Michael Alexander Beas

Expert Author Shalini Mittal
The genre of fantasy fiction has proved quite a popular one over the past few years. J.R.R. Tolkien's "Lord of the Rings" and "The Hobbit" and J.K. Rowling's "Harry Potter" series received a very good response from the audience. Readers' engagement with these novels was such that it compelled authors to write sequel after sequel in order to satiate their curiosity and imaginative pleasures. The credit definitely goes to these legendary authors who with their superior skills of writing have made fantastical elements and mythical creatures appear real.
As most of us, fans of fantasy fiction, sit preoccupied with the fictional diminutive humanoid race, the Hobbits, the next breathtaking saga is already on its way to becoming world-famous. There is a new book in the market titled Strump - A World of Shadows.
Strump: A World of Shadows - Snippet of its Storyline
The novel is a fantasy fiction packed with humans, Mermen, pirates, sorcerers, pixies and mice. The setting of novel is a mystical world called Strump. There are two fictional kingdoms in the land - the Blue Kingdom and the Old Kingdom. They unite the past and the present into an exciting adventure to decide who will be the right king. Throughout, allegiances are made and broken and the loyalty of characters is tested.
On the occasion of the death of King Aerostat II, the king of the Blue Kingdom, his two sons vie for keys to the throne. The Shadow Lord unites a magical game board called Strump with the intent of casting the Blue Kingdom into a world of shadows which will bring death and destruction. He brings back the old world, the World of Shadows.
The novel brims with excitement, adventure, suspense and unique characters. It has gripping story and countless twists and turns. It is likely that Hobbit, Harry Porter and Narnia fans will like the book.
The Author
Michael Alexander Beas is a resident of Waxhaw, North Carolina. As far as his professional career is concerned, the job positions he has held till date have been remote from the art of writing novels. Beas has an Associate Degree in Business Administration and a Bachelor's Degree in Business Management. He has worked at banks, telecommunications and commercial insurance companies marketing company merchandise to customers. Although employed in the commercial sector, Michael Alexander Beas always had a liking for writing. However, he was unable to pursue it due to hectic work schedules.
Strump - A World of Shadows is his first fiction novel. It makes a good read for young adults and elders alike. It was released on December 30, 2013. So, you can see it's not very old. It has 445 pages. The book has been published by Xlibris Corporation. The movie, The Hobbit: The Desolation of the Smaug was released on 13rd December, 2013. Thus, Beas' Strump - A World of Shadows will draw heavy comparisons with the Hobbit series; a series regarded a benchmark in fantasy fiction.
Will it the book be able to transport us into an alternate world like most of its predecessors did? Will this first-time author be able to carve a place for himself alongside authors like J.R.R. Tolkien and J.K. Rowling? Only time will tell. Till then let's read and enjoy the book and hope for more.

Book Quote - The attack on Englewood!

"To his disillusion, he quickly realized that the battle at Castle Sky was only the beginning. Far off in the distance was Englewood, which was being attacked. People, and what seemed to be shadows that could only be seen in the glare of the fires, burned in the town’s hovels...."

"Walking back and forth, back and forth on the wooden planks atop the stern of the ship, the pleas for help rang sharper and sharper in his head, like an ax cutting down fresh pine..."
Chapter 12 -

What would you do to save those in need?

King Alexander decided to do whatever it took to help his fellow friends who where dying under the wrath of Kavardas and his evil shadow soldiers. Tonight’s challenge is to do the same and listen to those around you. If you find that someone needs your help, then do so no strings attached.

The Magical Board of Sky, also known as the Shield of Sky.

The Magical Board of Sky, also known as the Shield of Sky.

Below you will find a picture of this mystical board that one could only wish they possessed. It was the first piece of the Game Board of Shan to be broken into six pieces upon the ruins that was once Sky Castle. This piece of the Game Board will be key during the final battle that will be fought to the death in the Kings Arena. There, the victor will be crowned the final king till the end of days.

Until then the board will have to suffice in protecting its current barer, King Gorgan, and his Northern Kingdom that King Alexander is trying desperately to save for his people.

Read all of the games boards abilities and there powers that i have listed towards the back of the STRUMP book. Let me know your thoughts and what you would do if you possessed such a powerful piece of the game.

Sunday writing! Corners of the World.

Tonight I find myself writing the second book of STRUMP: “Corners of the World.”

Usually when writing I create a storyboard with different pictures and different ideas that I have thought of over the day. When drawing the pictures themselves I design whatever comes to mind / almost like brainstorming with pictures. The pictures help place me in the right mindset of what might happen next.

For example: the alchemist mask in the center of the pegboard that you see is the focus of my next chapter (22) in the book. The rest are supporting pictures of what I want to include in the chapter. The characters and game pieces around the mask will just support whatever my thought process is for the next chapter. Where the story will go or how it will ultimately turn out I don't even know myself. But as soon as I start typing I enter into the world of STRUMP and everything starts unfolding before me. -

I've included a sneak peak of the Second Book at the end of A World of Shadow! I truly hope you enjoy. - Happy Sunday!

Social Media - The Future is Here! Tonights Blog Post.

Who would have thought that after only a week I, of all people, would be engaged with all of the social media outlets that are available these days. I grew up in a world that was filled with pagers and brick cell phones and no email or personal computers. Now I am "blogging" on my apple laptop with thousands of followers all over the world. As if that was not enough exposure, the blog is linked to my tweeter account, the Facebook page, the Facebook Fan Page, the Instagram, the Pinterest accounts so that everyone can "Like" and "Hashtag" with their friends across the world. "The world seems to be just one click away!"

For the last couple weeks my mind has been in a crazed whirlwind over all the media outlets that are available in the marketplace. Sometimes the hardest part is remembering all of the different passwords. The goal is to hopefully share with the world my vision of King STRUMP so that hopefully all readers, from all walks of life can be taken away.

Fortunately, the good news is that I have been blessed with so many people that have been helping me. I thank them dearly for all of the patience that they have had with me. I did have to draw the line when my 2 and a half-year-old son knew how to use an IPAD better then I did...

Hope you enjoyed tonight’s blog and if possible comment and let me know if I'm not the only one caught up in the whirlwind of the social media crazy.

The Importance of Family! Tonight's Blog

Tonight’s Blog is about the importance of family and the unending love that families have for one another.

Truth be told I got the idea for the post tonight because my 18-year-old daughter, Schamy was creating her ownblog about Yoga and the topic that she chose to be her first blog was about her family.   I began to wonder why my first blog was not the same and was a bit taken aback because I talked about the book instead of why I wrote about it to begin with. Far and Away they are the reason why I wrote the book and it would not have been possible had it not been for each and everyone one of them.

My daughter helped read it for content, my aunts helped edit it, my mom help publish it, my wife gave me courage to finish one of my life's passions, my sister helps me with all of the social media that I completely struggle with and my two twin boys show me their innocence day in and day out which give me the will power to push on and write another chapter.

Throughout the course of my life I have seen and dealt with death quite a bit. Life in its entirety is a roundtrip. In the end the only thing that one can take with them are the memories that one creates. So go out there and make lasting memories.

The Book of STRUMP focuses on the importance of family and the struggles that can more often then not be found in a family and the importance of family.  My of the Characters in the book in many ways are my family and I truly encourage you to read if not my book any other book with them especially if you have children. Who knows perhaps it too will be another memorable experience that you will never forget.

Game Piece of Strength - Remember the Day!

With the Game Piece of Strength a person can transform themselves into a Giant that towers over 10 feet tall. It was forged in the Land of Giants after King STRUMP killed the Emperor Giant Octavian. Legend tells of a magical hammer that was used to forge the Game Piece of Strength in the volcanos of Voltare. Now both the Game Piece and the Hammer have been lost to the sands of time. However if both will be needed to enter the Kings Arena. It is there, during that final fight that the true king will rise and the last battle between good and evil will be fought.

"Find the strength in you to do the right thing always" - Beas

Creativity - Book Quote

"The sun rose over the Island of Pi and not long after the green poisonous fog burned away into the gentleness of the morning. No one had slept after the wild storm swept through and battered the ship the night before. Many died in the battle over the ocean waters. Some drowned, some were smashed when the ship capsized and turned over its side, while others just went mad in the misty fog that plagued the ship in its final lunge for safety."

Right from Wrong

The following is how the Evil Shadow Lord, Kavardas is envisioned:

How often are we faced with a difficult decision and are tempted by the voice inside of us that tells us "Hey it's ok to do this or that?" Deep down we know what's right and wrong, but somehow the voice persists and eventually, more often then not, we give in to temptation.  In STRUMP that is exactly the role Kavardas plays with King Gorgan. He constantly uses him to do bad things, until eventually he himself becomes bad. It's not Gorgan who is bad, but rather the evil in him that makes him bad.

My Advise for this evening is "Stay Strong and always do the right thing."

Funny Story

The picture below is of the bear cave that I wrote about in the STRUMP. During this scene King Gorgan is entranced by Karvardas, the Shadow Lord who is possessing his body. Gorgan is swindled by his evil uncle who tells him that in order to get respect from the others he has to kill a Northern Bear. Which I might add no one has ever been able to do. Gorgan being stubborn agrees to the challenge.

When I wrote this chapter I thought of a similar situation in my own life that now, looking back seems funny to me. It was not I might add when I actually lived it.

My two brother in laws and I encountered a wild beast on an open cattle farm in Santa Cruz, Boliva one day. We were on our horses looking and counting the cows roaming the pasture when out of nowhere sitting on a small hill there was a panther staring down at us. He was licking his lips and looked like he was going to prance and attack us at any moment. Being with two the toughest guys I have ever met I, needless to say, had to pretend that I was a tough guy myself.

Truth be told half of me wanted to run the other way, and the other half wanted me to be cool and press forward. I chose the second option and lived to write the story of a bear and a task that thank goodness I only had to write about. Needless to say that was the last time I visited that farm.

How about you? Have you ever found yourself in a situation that you somehow managed to get out of and that now that you lived, it somehow  seems to be more entertaining the frightful?

Reaching your hearts desires!

Have you ever wanted to get away and somehow go to another place at the drop of a dime? I have.
More often then not actually. So many things seem to get in the way from the places we want to go and see.  Money, work, kids, time etc. put what ever you want to in the "I CANT" bucket and then you will know what I am talking about. I for one have been fortunate to have been able to travel and see so many places and meet so many people. Unfortunately I was never ever to stay there long enough to feel what other feel in the places they lived and grew up. Some of the countries that I have visited have been good, some not so good. Greece, France, Fiji to name a few would soot just fine for me, but then again LIFE gets in the way. Freedom is a funny thing sometimes. We are free, (at least I hope most of us are whom are reading this blog tonight, I hope), and we can go wherever we want because we are free, so then why do we need a passport to travel? or a VISA to get into another county? Why not just be free and go? Food for thought. In STRUMP: A World of Shadows, I created two worlds for the reader and myself to be free and travel between two different worlds. Below is the map of the OLD KINGDOM where King Strump forged his magical Game Pieces. He did not worry about getting a VISA or worry about what he had to do to triumph. NO. He set a goal and simply achieved it, one realm at a time. Nothing got in his way; As such I end tonights blog with this, "When you have something in mind, be it traveling to some exotic land, applying for a dream job, getting your degree, getting into a good college or simply writing a novel that you hope someone will read one day. Then remember STRUMP and just go out and be free to live your life. If you do nothing can stop you from reaching your hearts desires.

Sneak Peek: Game Piece of Power

I remember coming up with the different Game Pieces what feels like a long time ago. I was 15 years old when I first heard the name STRUMP. My mom had thought about it actually when she was wanting to write a book herself on Mice. Some of which I mentioned in the book. But I felt STRUMP had to have a deeper meaning. Life's journey took me a really rough place where I had to watch every step I took. Ironically, during this challenging time in my life, I was brought back to the childhood memory of the Ancient King STRUMP.  I figured its now time to finish something that we started a long time ago. I was afraid, lost, worried of what might or could happen. Thats when the word STRUMP finally had meaning: S = Strength, T = Truth, R = Righteousness, U = Unity, M = Malice, and P = POWER. Why Power? Because that is what the people around me wanted and would do anything to have. Its only natural that the Evil King STRUMP would posses something that would give him an advantage above the rest. Have you ever been faced with a decision or been in a situation that you can not control or wish that you can leave and you simply can't? If so STRUMP will take you away to a place that at least for a moment in time you can have the POWER to get away.
